Some of our recent DONATIONS
On April 27, 2023 the Ladies Auxiliary presented a $1,000 donation to the non-profit organization, Santa’s Hideaway. This organization sits on 100 acres in Middlefield Ohio and is run completely on donations and by volunteers. Santa’s Hideaway is a replica of Santa’s Village in the North Pole and brings Christmas Cheer 365 days a year to terminally ill children & their families.

In March, 2023, the Grand Madam President, Elaine Regi, stopped to meet some of the Willoughby 2300 Auxiliary Sisters. They had a light luncheon & presented her with a check for $500 to the Grand Aerie Charity Fund for Spinal Cord Injury. See album on our Photos Page.
On February 25, 2023 our Auxiliary held a Ladies Tea and Charity Luncheon raising $1,000 for the charity, Women Safe. See album on our Photos Page.
On May 3, 2023 our club donated $5,000 to the Willoughby Police Department for a K9 officer. Pictured below are Jerry Frye, Aerie President, and Carol Banfield, Auxiliary President, presenting our $5,000 check to James Schultz, Chief of Police, Willoughby.
On August 12, 2020 we gave five senior high school students
each a $1,000,00 scholarship.
Samuel Webster graduated from Mentor High and will attend
the University of Notre Dame.
Natali Trem graduated from Lake Catholic and will attend the
University of Dayton.
Riley McLaughlin graduated from Willoughby South and will
attend Ohio State.
Alex Dragas graduated from Madison High and will attend
the University of Cincinnati.
Nicholas Coreno graduated from Lake Catholic and will
attend Gannon University.
On November 15th, 2019, our Line Dance Group gave a $125.00 Donation to the club for
Breast Cancer Research. Presenting the check to Mike Apple, Aerie President, is “Dancing” Carol Luich, our Line Dance instructor.
On July 31, 2019 we gave three senior high school students each a $1,000,00 scholarship. Gabrielle Grandini went to Lake Catholic High School and she is going to Kent State University. Nicholas Ball went to St. Joseph High School and he is going to Ohio University. Helen Brown went to Willoughby South High School and she is going to the University of Mount Union.

On July 17, 2019, we presented a check in the amount of $6,200.00 to the Alzheimer’s Association. Accepting our check is Seana Dailey, Donor and Events Manager, Cleveland Alzheimer’s Chapter office in Beachwood, Ohio (3rd from left in photo). Presenting the check is Vince Romano, Aerie Trustee, (far right in photo) and Mike Apple, Aerie President, (left in photo). Vince Romano and his wife, Donna, raised funds for this donation by holding a dinner/dance at our aerie in May. The 12-piece “No Name Band”, Cleveland, Ohio, played dance music from the 60s, 70s and beyond and donated their time. Mentor Kia donated $500.00 and a gift card raffle was also held at the dinner.
On February 27, 2019, our Auxiliary presented a check in the amount of $750.00 to Judy Burr, Executive Director, Project Hope. (Pictured left holding the check.) The Auxiliary held a poinsettia sale and raised $499.00 and $251.00 was donated by our Willoughby Eagles Aerie. Project Hope for the Homeless is located at 25 Freedom Rd., in Painesville, Ohio. It is a facility which provides overnight shelter for men, women and families whom are homeless.
On November 7, 2018, our Auxiliary presented a $1,000.00 check to the President and Founder of Little Annie’s Hope Train, Annie Kline. This charity provides assistance to the homeless or needy by collecting donations, providing warming kits and blankets to camps and hunger centers and builds connections with the homeless.
$1,000.00 Donation to Fisher House on September 12, 2018
Rick DeChant, Executive Director, Veterans Initiative, is accepting our $1,000.00 check for Fisher House. Fisher House builds comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay free of charge while a loved one is in the hospital. The official Greater Cleveland groundbreaking for two, sixteen suite houses took place on Friday, March 23, 2018. Our Ladies’ Auxiliary had a Memorial Day Basket raffle the proceeds of which, along with a donation from our Aerie made this donation possible.
On August 15, 2018 we gave four scholarships, $1,000.00 each, to the following high school graduates (Left to Right in photo):
On June 21, 2018, our Auxiliary presented a check in the amount of $500.00 to Terry Mowery, President, and Tom Pescha, Trustee, Lake County Juvenile Diabetes Walk Family. Our Auxiliary raised the money for this donation with St. Patrick’s Day Basket, Shamrocks and Pretzel sales.
On April 25, 2018, we presented
Lake County Crime Lab representatives with a $1,000.00 donation.
On February 10, 2018 our Aerie and Auxiliary held a Heart Fund Dinner/Dance Benefit. Together, the Aerie and Auxiliary raised $3,200.00 and donated $1,600.00 to the Heart Fund and $1,600.00 to Pediatric Heart Research. Hannah’s Home
Loretta Brown, Auxiliary Trustee, is presenting our check to Director, Ms. Vicky Krnac, Hannah’s Home.
These photos show our own Line Dance Instructor, Dancing Carol, presenting a $125.00 check to the Alzheimer’s Association. This donation is from all of the dancers in Carol’s line dance class, which is held at our club.
On Monday, February 13, 2017, three members of the Willoughby Eagles Aerie #2300 Ladies Auxiliary toured and visited with the residents of Nevaeh Ridge, 9652 Old Johnnycake Ridge Rd. in Mentor, OH.
Nevaeh Ridges is a six bedroom facility providing a place to stay for women with children ages 5 and younger and pregnant women who seek outpatient substance abuse treatment services. Photo from left to right: Auxiliary Member, Jan Cox; Auxiliary Chaplain, Jane Sebastian; and Auxiliary Trustee, Loretta Brown, presented a check in the amount of $345.00 to Mr. Dave Hanlon, Resident Treatment Manager, for Nevaeh Ridge.Our Auxiliary raised this money from its Third Annual Poinsettia Sale, which was held in December 2016.
On August 17th, 2016, we gave THREE, $1,000.00 Scholarships to area students and $4,500 to the Willowick Police Department.
$1,000.00 Scholarship given to Cardinal High, Middlefield, Ohio student, Dakota O’Brien. Dakota will attend Kent State University.
$1,000.00 Scholarship given to Lake Catholic student, Josephine Lawson. Josephine will attend John Carroll University.
$1,000.00 Scholarship given to Willoughby South High student,
Kyle Jordan. Kyle will attend the University of Cincinnati.
We gave a $4,500.00 Check ito the Willowick, Ohio Police Department. Our check was accepted by Lieutenant Brian Turner, Willowick Police Department. This gift of money will be used for a new Defibrillator.
In July of 2016, through the Jimmy Durante’s Children’s Fund, we presented Mary Verdi Fletcher, President/Founding Artistic Director, Dancing Wheels Company & School, a $5,000.00 Grant.

In June of 2016, our Aerie #2300 Line Dance Group, headed by our Instructor and Auxiliary Member, Carol Luich, donated $100 to our Aerie for the 2016 Childrens’ Christmas Party. In the photo here Kelly Citraro, Auxiliary President, is accepting our $100 check.
Some of our 2015 DONATIONS: We gave a $5,000.00 Donation to Mary Verdi Fletcher, President/Founding Artistic Director, Dancing Wheels Company & School. Considered one of the premier arts and disabilities organizations in the U.S., Dancing Wheels is a professional, physically integrated dance company uniting the talents of dancers both with and without disabilities. Mary Verdi-Fletcher, the first professional wheelchair dancer in the U.S., founded the Dancing Wheels Company in Cleveland in 1980. Born with spina bifida, Mary wanted to offer others with disabilities full and equal access into the world of dance. An almost unimaginable concept at the time, Mary’s vision and passion have since helped to revolutionize our very notion of dance – as well as what defines a dancer. Now part of Professional Flair, Inc., a 501(c) arts and disabilities organization, Dancing Wheels continues to travel the globe advocating disability awareness and entertaining 30,000-50,000 people each year.
On September 16th our Aerie Donated Three $1,000.00 Scholarships to three area students: Austin Turner (not pictured) and Nicholas Jamison (pictured below) and Karen Brey (not pictured).

We gave a check in the amount of $2,665.84 to Lieutenant Brian Turner, Willowick, Ohio Police Department. This donation will be used to purchase Riot Shields and Helmets for their SWAT TEAM .
2015:
Our club donated $200 to the Alzheimer’s Association (Cleveland) and $200 to the Diabetes Association (Cleveland). The donations are earmarked for Research For A Cure. Barbara Apple, our Aerie 2300 Webmaster, accepted the donations to these charities.
2014:
We donated Five Gas Masks to the Willowick Police Department, Western Lake County Swat Team.
We also donated a K-9 Dog to the Willoughby Police Department.
We gave a $2,500.00 DONATION ACCEPTED BY TOM SWEENEY, PRESIDENT, GREATER CLEVELAND FISHER HOUSE
Cleveland Fisher House
The following is an excerpt from the text of the speech that Tom Sweeney, President, Greater Cleveland Fisher House, gave upon receiving a $2,500.00 donation from the Willoughby Eagles #2300, which will be used to help build the Cleveland Fisher House.
. . . . “A Fisher House is a “Ronald McDonald House” for military families.
The Cleveland VA is the 3rd largest VA in America. We don’t have one. The Fisher Foundation is asking for our help to build one here.
A Fisher House is for the families of the wounded, who otherwise could not afford plane fare and motel bills, to be with their veterans/…wounded and injured men and women being operated on or rehabilitated or veterans being treated at a VA hospital.
We believe “family” is an integral part of the healing process. Here’s why.
Life and it’s dreams have been drastically changed for these veterans. They are acutely aware of that…but they also know that if their family is by their side or bed …they can love and be loved…and focus on healing.
My friends…a Fisher House is a promise…an oath. It is a good deed that is owed.
The Greater Cleveland Fisher House keeps that promise…that pact.. . . . . . .“
On December 30, 2013 we gave a gift of $400.00 to Diabetes Partnership of Cleveland in support of its research programs. Our donation will be used to help find a cure and Diabetes Partnership of Cleveland appreciates our gift.
On December 31, 2013 we gave a $400.00 donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, Cleveland Chapter. The Alzheimer’s Association is getting closer to achieving its vision of a world without this disease and they sincerely appreciate our support.
On November 29, 2013 we gave $2,500.00 to the Fairport Harbor Police Department. This donation will be be used to help acquire and train a K9 unit.
On November 29, 2013 we gave college scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 each to high school graduates. Two students from Eastlake North and two students from Willoughby South High School.
Police Cadets accepted our $2,500 donation to the Lakeland College Basic Police Academy Program.
Below is the dog we purchased for the Willoughby, Ohio Police Department. With K9 “Officer Rebel” is his handler,Patrolman David Burrington.
